Mountain Regional Water Background

Mountain Regional Water Special Service District has come along way since it's inception in the beginning of 2000. We started with a couple hundred customers and one employee, now we have 19 employees and cover an area greater than that of the Northern Salt Lake Valley (over 25,000 acres). We are a true regional water entity that has complex interconnected water systems spanning much of Western Summit County (Snyderville Basin), all carefully engineered to improve the quality of water and service. The systems or areas that have been regionalized are shown in the map below:

Our Organization:

Mountain Regional Water is a Special Service District, organized under the laws of Utah (Title 17A-2-1301). The Summit County Commission created the District in January of 2000, and act as the Governing Board of the District. The County Commission delegated the majority of their authority to an appointed Administrative Control Board in 2007. This 5 member Board is made of of citizen rate payers of the District and enact most of the policies of the District. Management then follows these policies and fulfills the goals and strategies of the Governing Board and Administrative Control Board. The Staff of Mountain Regional Water Special Service District take great pride in their jobs and public service, and likewise, the District places its highest value on our staff resources.
